hey everyone!

what a crazy couple of weeks its been

trees has indeed broken up.. ill be concentrating on cool rainbows and the others have different projects/bands in the works

we played the trees last shows at whammy and waiheke with ned collette and actor/model

thanks to everyone who came out to watch the shows and have fun with us!

im gonna miss the guys but we finish up on good terms and remain good friends

thanks to all who helped us or supported us for our brief 6 months or so together.

there is more uplifting, positive news on the way but i think ill wait before i post about it.

in the meantime Ive uploaded a new cool rainbows track on myspace for you all today called southern summer sun :)

hey friends,

hope youre all enjoying the summertime!

i made a video with my buddy paul last night for a cool rainbows track called bubble stars... it was just for funsies but expect more to come as i had heaps of fun making it .. just gotta get my computer to handle the jandle when doing all the loading stuff

alot more cool rainbows stuff is on the way.. i might get one of those mediafire things if i can somehow tell people actually read this blog.. like ever

neil young was amazing at bdo this year. hot chip was fun too... i got there late so didnt catch tv

oohh and bellhawkes have pretty much written and demozed a whole albums worth so more on that soon!

the trees ep is now finished and mastered. phewf took us a wee while to let it go :)

the artwork is currently being made by our good friend Joel Kefali.. you can check out his work here

Joel is also a member of a freeform noise group i play in called

APHG

trees probably wont have a release party for the ep till late jan/mid feb but you might be able to pick it up at one of our shows sometime in the near future... in the meantime you can listen at the trees myspace for most of the songs

cool rainbows has a couple new ones up now too, i might put some up for download as soon as i can work out how the download option works on the new player

in other news i start work with dear times waste again soon to finish her ep.. and mixes for the brand new maths songs im currently working on will be completed soon.

so you should have alot of new music to listen to for the summer!

there are some other projects coming up ill let you know about soon

ok soooo

sorry for the lack of updates lately. things have been getting extremely busy.

trees are almost finished the first ep.

it will be a 6 track ep of the following songs

you are a beautiful woman
lets just be together
now that youre gone
morning sun
a choice between three songs (you remind me, baby please and dont wanna say goodbye)
and a new one called "its your decision"

one of the ones left out of the record will possibly be available for free download.

we are all very excited to have this record almost out and ready for you to hear.

mixing starts this weekend and mastering sometime the following week.

in other news two brand new brand new math songs will be out soon... we ve been working on overdubs at my house this week... those are sounding sweeeeet and one of the tracks has alot of guest vocals from talented people.

and claire duncan(dear times waste) will be performing at the auckland cut off your hands(who were sounding better than ever last time i saw them) show.. rikki and i are helping out claire with that.. i think trees are playing this also

so come along and party with us!

trees had an AMAZING night last night at the fleet fm 5th birthday party!

thanks to fleet for putting on such a sweet night! also a big thank you to everyone for being choice and partying with us!

so after some very hard work and long long weekends the first dear times waste track is up here :

in addition to producing im also playing guitar, drums, bass and some bvs on the record.

i went a bit sitek in production style with this one... very happy with how epic it all sounds

claire is an very cool singer songwriter.. the rest of the record is looking to be quite varied

just got back from silver scrolls.. was such a fun night!

met so many cool people(thanks trilby!). had a sweet as dinner too and plenty to drink.

k so i remastered pauly cause it was annoying that it was too quiet.

helen clarke(the new zealand prime minister) apparently made mention of trees climbing trees today when queried on the mikey havoc breakfast show so im told heheh

monday was a bit of a drag to be honest. ive got a strange cough and slightly sore throat.

i think its some sorta change of season thing thats going around at the moment.

i had an awesome weekend tho. the sun was out and it was pretty much party time every night.

the song is called "pauly" and it was written for a very dear friend of mine.

you may or may not get an explanation for this song sometime soon as im gonna do the polite thing and ask permission.

it hasnt been compressed as much as the others cause i wanted the dynamics to come out a bit more than usual. so you might have to turn your stereo up a bit.

so i just had some quiet drinks at my house for a friend who has recently returned home.

i really enjoyed the company, it was amazing to be in a room where everyone seemed so genuinely interested in each other and in having a good time.

friends are great.
